STM Executive Team

Mr. Noor Haq
Founder (1945-2006)

Mr. Haq contributed over 30 years of process engineering semiconductor experience to STM. He held several US patents on chemical etching formulations, wafer stress relief processes, and proprietary wafer shipping containers. Noor began his career at National Semiconductor as a technician in the test area and later as a process engineer. Mr. Haq held management positions working for Intersil and Samsung. In the early 80’s Noor Haq founded EMT, Electronic Materials Technology, manufacturer of photoresist strippers and edge bead remover. In 1992, EMT, a 3 million dollar company, was sold to Brent Chemicals Group, a publicly traded company on the London Stock Exchange, FTSE market. Following the success of EMT, Noor founded GDSI, Grinding and Dicing Services, Inc., providing outsourced wafer grinding and dicing services to IC manufacturers and fabless design companies. In 1997, GDSI processed 60,000 wafers per month. GDSI remains an integral part of STM’s sales research and development.  Mr. Haq held a Masters in Physics.

Noor’s engineering background and forward thinking business vision provided the foundation for STM’s success. His consultative approach to customer’s needs, came from many years spent working in semiconductor fabs. Noor was a key contributor to both business and new product development for STM.
